MAKES 1 GLASS15 MINUTES + COOLINGJASMINE GREEN TEA
What you’ll need
- 1 jasmine green tea bag (or 2 g loose leaf)
- ¾ cup (180 ml) water, at the temperature on your tea package
- ¼ cup (60 ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 thin orange slices
- ½–1 teaspoon honey or simple syrup, optional
- ¾ cup ice
How to make it
- Steep the jasmine tea in the hot water according to the package directions, then remove the tea bag or strain the leaves. If using honey, stir it into the warm tea.
- Cool the tea, then chill it in the refrigerator. Do not leave the leaves in while cooling.
- Fill a glass with ice. Add the orange juice, chilled tea, and orange slices. Stir gently.
- Taste before adding more sweetener. For a brighter finish, squeeze in a little lemon.
Make it your own
Use orange juice without added sweetener so you can adjust the balance yourself. Avoid crushing citrus peel into the drink; it can make the finish bitter.
Original recipe idea; not independently kitchen-tested. Chill the brewed tea promptly and add fresh fruit just before serving. Tea, fruit, and sweeteners vary—taste as you go.
