MAKES 1 GLASS15 MINUTES + COOLINGPURE HIBISCUS INFUSION

What you’ll need

  • 1 pure hibiscus tea bag
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) freshly boiled water
  • 4 strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 1–2 teaspoons simple syrup, optional
  • 2 mint leaves, optional
  • ¾ cup ice

How to make it

  1. Steep the hibiscus bag following its package directions. Remove the bag, cool the infusion, then refrigerate.
  2. Slice one strawberry for garnish. Gently muddle the other three in a glass with a teaspoon of syrup, if desired.
  3. Fill the glass with ice, pour in the chilled hibiscus infusion, and stir.
  4. Taste and adjust the sweetness. Add the sliced strawberry and a little mint to finish.

Make it your own

Choose a bag labeled pure hibiscus if you want a tea-leaf-free version. Some blends also contain black or green tea, so always check the ingredients.

Original recipe idea; not independently kitchen-tested. Chill the brewed tea promptly and add fresh fruit just before serving. Tea, fruit, and sweeteners vary—taste as you go.
